Learn about Steve's Funeral
Thank You
To the hundreds of people that came to Steve's wake, 200+ that attended his service and 80+ who watched online from all over the world. To those who have sent cards and food.
There was much meaning to the choices made at Steve's funeral & wake.

Prayer Card
Katarina designed the prayer cards for Steve.
Prayer cards were very important to Steve. He kept the prayer cards from departed friends and family members with him throughout his life.
The back of Steve's prayer card has a photo of Steve's garden. It was his place to work and meditate.
The cards were also printed in German - in honor of his heritage, love for germany and his German friends.
If you'd like a prayer card sent to you feel free contact the Moor family.
Steve's Service
It's likely too much to talk about all the choices made to honor Steve at the Funeral -
It was a beautiful, glorious, grand sendoff that did its best possible to reflect a great and much loved man.
The music played before and after the service were recordings of Steve's 3 kids as he was so very proud of them.
Steve's casket was carried in - not rolled by his brothers, friends and son.
The sermon was based off Steve's notes on a bible passage found after his passing.
Katarina's voice teacher from high school sang.
His nieces read the scripture along with cousins.
8 dear friends, really brothers to him, spoke about Steve along with his 3 kids.
His letterman jacket was draped across the casket, and a Northwestern sticker was placed on it as well.
Sven flew in from Germany to speak.
Katarina sang Precious Lord - a song she sang for his father's funeral. She had sung at funerals before and he would joke she was a funeral singer.
Edelweiss was a Special song to the family, in honor of his German heritage. And the times at the Stottelmeier dances when he would make Katarina sing Edelweiss with the band. And he was our family's Captain Von Trapp. & Michael Kutner, Steve's friend sang.
He was played out with Victory to the Northwestern Fight Song!
There as a reception after at Pesca - a family tradition that there would be a lunch after the funeral.
Carolyn organized it all, knowing Steve would want it done right.

A Trial in Love
In our home, on the piano are some of the cards we've been able to open so far... so much love from so many. And a cast made at the funeral home of Steve's hands. So he, and all of you can hold us in a warm embrace.
Our Dad and Husband's passing has been a horror and pain like no other - and a time to reflect on the wondrous love and joy we've had the honor of experiencing. Just as the pain is impossible and indescribable, so is the love.
